| NOTES:
Until 1925, when the office of Secretary of State for Dominion Affairs was created, the Colonial Office had responsibility for all British colonies and dominions, excluding India, which had its own Secretary of State with a corresponding India and Burma Office. The staffs of the Colonial Office and the Dominions Office below the rank of Assistant Under Secretary of State were interchangeable. The Legal Staff, the Establishments Branch, the Libary, the Accounts, Printing, Revision of Records, and Telegraph Sections were at the disposal of both the Colonial Office and the Dominions Office. |
