[1] The division did not receive its signal battalion (Panzerdivisions-Nachrichtenabteilung 87) until 01.11.1942.
[2] When raised, the headquarters of the 90. leichte Afrika Division originally only had the Divisional Signal Company for Special Purposes Africa (Divisionsnachrichtenkompanie z.b.V. Afrika), which was redesignated as the 190th Signal Company (motorized) (190. Nachrichtenkompanie (mot)) on 08.12.41. A complete Signal Battalion (Nachrichtenabteilung 190), with a headquarters and one company (1./Pz.Nachr.Abt. 190), arrived in North Africa in May 1942. The 190th Signal Company (mot) then became the 2./190. Then, on 01.08.42, it was redesignated as the 190th Panzer Division Signal Battalion (Panzerdivisions-Nachrichtenabteilung 190).
